Palm Springs International Film Festival

The Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles participates in the 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in North America featuring more than 200 films from 70 countries. Among the Italian films to be screened are: La Prima Cosa Bella (2010) by Paolo Virzì, 18 Anni Dopo (2010) by Edoardo Leo, Le Quattro Volte (2010) by Michelangelo Frammartino, Mine vaganti (2010) by Ferzan Özpetek, L’uomo che Verrà  (2009) by Giovanni Diritti and La Doppia Ora (2009) by Giuseppe Capotondi. Directors Paolo Virzì and Edorado Leo will be in attendance.

The IIC promotes Italy as a center of conservation, production, and cultural diffusion from classical times to the present. In addition to organizing cultural events in fields such as art, music, cinema, theater, dance, fashion, design, and photography, the Italian Cultural Institute offers courses in Italian language, arranges contacts and venues to facilitate the involvement of Italian cultural operators in cultural exchanges and productions at an international level, and support initiatives that favor intercultural dialogue based on principles of democracy and international solidarity.
